Twidale Auto & Motorcycles took on the challenge to raise $10,000
In 2024 Twidale Auto & Motorcycles took on the challenge to raise $10,000.
The criteria were that the funds would be raised internally, we would focus on one cause and would in 2025 distributed $10,000 into the communities that support us on a daily basis.
With all of that at the forefront, MENS MINDS MATTER, $10,000 dollars to MENS MENTAL HEALTH in 2025 was born and through a variety of mediums we met the challenge and today distributed the funds raised.
We could not have achieved this without the support of our team, our clients, and our mates and the great old saying it takes a village rings so true, we are blessed to be so supported.
THE STOIC AUSTRALIAN MALE
The stereotypical Aussie bloke with calloused skin, a busy brain and an Akubra often masks the silent battle he’s facing every day. Those black dogs that follow him from dawn to dusk: Depression, Stress and Anxiety.
The challenges to men’s mental health are multifaceted. Isolation, societal expectations, economic pressures, relationship issues, and health problems all contribute to the struggle.
Here are some sobering stats:
Men account for about 7 out of 10 suicides.
One in five men experience a mental health concern each year.
Men make up more than three-quarters of suicidal deaths.
15% of Australian men report having no close friends, significantly impacting their mental health.
In rural areas, the distance from support services and the stigma surrounding mental health can leave men feeling alone and unsupported. Creating an environment where men feel safe to talk about their feelings is crucial.
Community initiatives, support groups, and public discussions can help normalize conversations about mental health.
Today we recognise the following groups and thank them for their contributions,
Yelarbon – Men’s Shed
Inglewood – Men’s Shed
Goondiwindi – Men’s Shed, Community Garden and Friends of the Garden
Mungindi – Men’s Shed
St George – Men’s Shed
Thank you to all these groups for making mental health a priority. Let’s continue to make mental health a priority for all.
Above some of the luck winners with their prizes.
